Permit drawings for homeowners
Site plansdrawn to scaleyour city will read.
Type your address. DrawPermit pulls your lot lines from the county record where it can, you place the house and the project, and it draws a dimensioned 11x17 site plan you submit as the owner.
How it works
Four layers. One permit set for the project you are building.
Start from the lot the county already drew.
In Texas, the lot boundary comes from the county appraisal district's parcel map. Anywhere else, type the dimensions from your plat or survey.
Place the house and what is already there.
Drag the house into position and type the distances you measured to each property line. Add the driveway, shed, pool or fence the reviewer will ask about.
Add the shed, deck, pool or addition.
Place what you are building and give its size. The site plan dimensions it to every property line and adds it to the impervious cover total.
Download the site plan your city asks for.
An 11x17 sheet with a title block, a scale, a north arrow and a site data box, ready to upload to your city's portal.
The set
Drawn the way plan reviewers read.
A reviewer gives each file a few minutes. These are the things that get an owner's drawings approved instead of sent back.
Dimensioned to every line
Each structure gets its distance to the front, side and rear property lines, so the setback check takes seconds.

Most cities let owners draw the site plan for work on their own home. Every sheet is labelled for the owner as applicant.

Why DrawPermit
Most small permits stall on paperwork, not carpentry. Drafting services charge for a person to redraw a lot the county has already mapped. DrawPermit starts from the county's lot lines, so the plan you submit is built on the record, not on a sketch.

Most cities accept an owner-drawn site plan if it's to scale, legible and shows what they ask for. Our Texas city pages say what each city wants. Elsewhere, check your city's permit page.
